You Can Help by Volunteering...
To Help at a Home Project
The Home Project is where local community people come together to volunteer their service, labor and area of expertise to help a foster family get their home up to code to meet licensing requirements in order to bring in foster children. Even if a foster family is willing to bring children into their home, they may be lacking the money or time to get their home ready.
Recent Home Projects have had volunteers busy at several homes. Three screen doors were installed that close and lock to make the house safer and more convenient. An upstairs attic conversion was started for the Homes of Hope office. One family had help finishing a basement so that they could be licensed to care for additional children. We need volunteer contractors, laborers, plumbers, electricians, painters, childcare providers, etc. for the Home Projects. Contact Angie or call her at (509) 758-8919 or Todd at (509) 758-1132.
At the Annual Christmas Party and Summer Celebration
Volunteer to make home-made desserts, play games at the party, decorate, provide food for the meal, serve dinner or provide prizes
Respite Services
Foster families rarely receive a break. Respite providers are greatly needed to come into the foster home and care for the children. A background check will be required for this. Contact Angie or call her at (509) 758-8918 for more information.
For the Annual Foster Family Christmas Party
At Christmas time we have an annual Christmas Party where the foster families gather for a time of celebration. Every foster child receives a $25 gift(s) of his/her special request. Dinner and dessert is provided for the families. Santa visits, games are played, prizes are given and photos are taken. For this festivity you could donate your service (baking, set-up/clean-up, decorating, childcare, etc.) or a monetary gift. Contact Angie or call her at (509) 758-8918 for more details.
To Host a Homes of Hope Presentation
Host a presentation where a team of volunteers will come to your business, organization, club, school or church and share about Homes of Hope.
